This discussion has been started with the aim to receive users opinions about Greg's Xml Editor project: do you like it? do you hate it? do you think that the editor's performances or features can be improved in some way? Tell it here!

Hi neneronotte,
I have been using XML Notepad 2007 for a while.
After I tried this one, it is quite impressive.
Quite fast and neat design. I really like it!
Thanks for the great work.

One thing that is missing I think is the Find/Replace functionalities.

2nd thing that is useful for me is that:
XML Notepad 2007 will "unify" the spacing, tabs while saving the XML document.
It help me a lots as I always need to compare versions of XML documents (using SVN).
Because different people may use different editors or their spacing, tab may varies.
I use XML Notepad 2007 to save all and then do the comparions.

In the meantime, I think the Find/Replace is the most necessary.
Do you allow other developers to submit the code?
I am keen on VS2005 C# development as well.

hi x5452,
sorry for my late reply... i'm working on the Find/replace functionality, i think it's one of the most usefull features that any editor MUST provide.
in this period, the project is idle because of my degree (unfortunately, i have no time to spend for it.... :-( ), and i'm the only one developer...
I appreciate much your help, if you're proposal is still valid!

Hi neronotte,

nice work at all, I really like it!

One question please: The changes you made to the ICSharpCode.TextEditor.dll, are they only available as GPL?
I'd like to use it in a small tool, which is not GPL (due to some internal reasons) but the extensions made for XML folding are extremely useful!
Is it possible to keep your changes in the TextEditor with the LGPL?
